In Summer 2020 we released a paper titled ‘Exceeding Expectations’ in response to the Office for Students’ preliminary statement of expectations for Universities tackling harassment in higher education.
With the Office for Students’ finalised statement of expectations now available, we’ve developed Exceeding Expectations 2.0, an interactive handbook building on the OfS’ 7-point guidance, and providing reasonable and achievable advice to achieve and create lasting change.
This handbook is for use by all staff and representatives responsible for influencing student experience. It offers further detail and examples on creating effective strategies to tackle harassment of all kinds.
It is divided into 2 parts:
PART 1 focuses on the importance of working towards prevention. We believe all readers will find value in this section as it touches on multiple areas including policy, strategy, data gathering, campaigning and training.
PART 2 focuses on managing the process effectively and supporting students. We believe readers that work in HR personnel roles or student support will find this section particularly relevant to their roles.
We have curated case studies to show what change looks like in practice, and provided tips and advice for how you can be successful in your role.
We hope you find it useful.
